​Parrot Room 

The Parrot Room is our room for preschool children it incorporates a room downstairs with an additional room upstairs which together contain areas covering the different areas of learning in the Early Years Foundation Stage. Our Parrot Room helps to prepare preschool children for moving onto primary school through routines such as self registration, where the children find their own name and post it in the box to register themselves in.
Children are encouraged to come together to share experiences and listen to others at register and circle times. Activities are planned based on each child's development and interests and we also incorporate input from parents based on what children have been interested in at home. 
We focus on rewarding and encouraging positive behaviour and give out 'Polly Parrot' and a certificate each week to our 'star of the week'. The children take great pride in looking after Polly for the weekend and sharing stories of what they have been doing with her.
